Bryan Adams is a great musician, that’s not up for debate, but did you know that many of his songs have made it into major motion pictures throughout the years? Here are a few films to look for on your Direct tv channels that have Bryan’s tunes in the background
The Guardian: This coastguard classic starred Ashton Kutcher and Kevin Costner and was the perfect vehicle for Bryan’s more heart wrenching ballads. You can catch one of his classics about halfway through – but we won’t tell you which one!
Hope Floats: Remember this Sandra Bullock charmer? In Hope Floats, Bryan’s vocal ability comes through with “When You Really Love Someone” which is a perfect compliment for the romantic tone of the rest of the movie.
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves: This one won him an Oscar. Everything I Do was the starring song in this Robin Hood spin off and Bryan couldn’t have picked a better moment to show off his best song to date. It really cuts like a knife at the right point in the movie (excuse the pun) and the producers chose well.

Following the devastating tsunami that struck Southeast Asia in early 2004, Bryan Adams created a charity called the Bryan Adams Foundation in 2006. It is now funded primarily through Bryan Adams’ photography. When it first launched, the Foundation auctioned off one of Adams’ personal guitars in order to start acquiring the necessary funds. Adams had some of his idols, such as Eric Clapton, sign the guitar. The proceeds from the auction provided the Foundation the funding it needed to get started.

The goal of the foundation is to help others by supporting the charities that help improve the human condition. The Foundation specializes in aiding educational efforts worldwide as Adams believes that a good education is one of the best gifts a child can receive. The Bryan Adams Foundation has also assisted charities that aid the elderly as well as victims of natural disasters, wars, and individuals suffering from mental and physical illnesses. The Foundation provides grants and funding to existing and proposed charities and projects in order to help people by aiding the people who are seeking to aid groups of people rather than just give money to individuals, thus explaining the Foundation’s motto of “helping people help people.”

Aside from giving us the classics Summer of ’69 and (Everything I Do) I Do It For You, Bryan Adams has used his rock star status to help raise awareness and funds for several charities. Adams, 52, is among celebrities joining the fight against breast cancer, claiming near 40,000 lives each year. The Run to You singer added breast cancer to his list of charitable causes in the late 1990s. Adams combined his love of photography with efforts to raise for breast cancer research.

In 1998, Adams photographed Canadian model Linda Evangelista as part of a promotion for a concert where funds raised were given to a breast cancer clinic in Ontario. That same year, Adams provided a song on a benefit CD to raise funds for breast cancer research. The Cuts Like a Knife singer went on to contribute photos to a book of celebrity and public figures. All royalties the singer earned from the book went to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Adams continues to work today to raise funds for breast cancer and other charities by donating some of the proceeds from his concerts to the cause. Breast cancer is the second most common cancer for women.

People around the world are familiar with the hit rock sensation Bryan Adams, but what they may not be familiar with is his large and still growing portfolio of photography. He has been especially successful in fashion photography and celebrity photography and has had many of his pictures published in national magazines. People who are interested in seeing some of his beautiful photography can find it in magazines like Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue and Vanity Fair. Adam’s even displayed his love for fashion in his music video “The Only Thing That Looks Good On Me Is You.” Adams has photographed such famous celebrities as Mickey Rourke, Lindsay Lohan, Tilda Swinton, Jared Leto, and that’s only naming a few.

Bryan Adams (from Kingston, Ontario) is one of the most successful Juno Award winners in history. He has racked up an amazing 56 nominations. He has also won over 8 times. He won the coveted Male Vocalist of the Year award in 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987 and again 10 years later in 1997 with his album “18 til I Die”. In 2000 he won the Best Male Artist award. These albums won album of the year: “Cuts Like a Knife” (1984), “Reckless” (1985). He’s also received awards for Producer of the Year and an International Achievement Award. His 1993 album “ Waking up the Neighbors” won Best Selling Album (Foreign or Domestic). His lyric and musical talent was awarded with Best Songwriter in 1999.
In 2010 Adams was honoured by the Junos with a very special award. It was the “Allan Waters Humanitarian Award” for his work with Amnesty International, the Prince’s Trust, “Reach Out to Asia”, Pakistan Earthquake Relief, Greenpeace and PETA. Bryan Adams Juno Awards demonstrate what a great talent he has both behind the scenes, in the studio, on tour and as a Global Ambassador.

Bryan Adams is one of the most popular singers in Canadian music history. He has won 18 Juno Awards. The Juno Awards are the Canadian equivalent to the Grammy. Adams won Best Male Artist in 2000 and Male Vocalist of the Year in 1997. One of the secrets behind his success is his great production. He has had some great producers working on his songs.

One of his most popular albums “Waking Up the Neighbors” was co-produced by Bryan Adams and Mutt Lange. Lange is a British music producer that worked with many successful bands over the years. These bands include such superstars as AC/DC, Foreigner and Maroon 5. He is one of the more successful producers in pop music history.

Another great producer that Bryan Adams has worked with is Bob Clearmountain. Clearmountain produced Adams’ highest selling album which was titled “Reckless”. Clearmountain has been nominated for many Juno, Grammy and Latin Grammy awards and has worked with some of the biggest legends in rock music history like Paul McCartney, The Who and of course Bryan Adams.

Bryan Adams is a legendary Canadian musical performer. He couldn’t have done it without the help of some great producers though and he has worked with some of the best in the business.

My love of Bryan Adams began back in the 80′s. I loved how he had a signature guitar sound and rocked along with Tina Turner on “It’s Only Love”. Later I delved more deeply into Bryan Adams music playing his first three albums over and over sure I would soon wear them out. Musically and lyrically, Bryan Adams music was full of meaning and it resonated with me. Lyrics such as these from “Cuts Like a Knife” when he says “Who is he baby? Who is he and tell me what he means to you?” felt like words I could have written myself.
In the 90′s, Adams remained contemporary and relevant with his hits “Everything I Do (I do it for you)” and I was thrilled to finally see him live in a huge arena. He seemed at the top of his career. The Nineties drew to a close but Adams has continued to stay current and relevant. His old songs still stand the test of time. His new songs still have that rock edge that first caught my ear. His lyrics have new meaning to me and I’m delighted to see how he appeals to my children as well.

Circa 1976, Sweeney Todd had been holding a high position in the singles chart and even scored a Juno Award. Soon after, Nick Gilder and Jim McCulloch, the vocalist and guitarist, respectively, decided to call it quits and left the band. The hardest thing to do when trying to when trying to revive a band is replacing the vocalist. The guitarist is obviously a crucial position in the band, but if you can find someone with an equal amount of talent, the audience may never be able to tell the difference in the musical execution.
Now the vocals, that’s a different story. It’s obvious that every person has a unique voice, both in presence and in range. Sweeney Todd proved that point as they had an extremely hard time replacing the vocals of the band. After Gilder left, the band took in Clark Perry as the new vocalist. He didn’t last for long though, and soon after he was gone, Bryan Adams came into the picture at the mere age of fifteen. Adams was only meant to be a temporary singer until the band could find a permanent vocalist. Some argue that this was because he was so young at the time, while others say it was because he was inexperienced. Either way, he exceeded the band’s and the public’s expectations by going on to be a permanent vocalist for Sweeney Todd. In the band’s second album If Wishes Were Horses, Bryan Adams performed as the lead singer. From then on, Bryan Adam’s music career grew, then soared.
