The Show:
The brief Japanese '05 tour started in Tokyo on April 23 and returned to Tokyo for the last of the four Japan shows just four days later. But what a different four days makes. The first show in Tokyo featured the "standard " set list, but this show features a revamped set list and a show that any fan who went to the first night would have rather seen.

This venue is the same venue BA has performed in since 1985 when he ended the Reckless tour in Tokyo. Between 1983 and 2005, this BA's 28th concert performance in Tokyo and his 18th at Budokan which holds about 10000 fans. This the location of the June 16, 2000 concert that was filmed for release on DVD.

Japanese fans are always respectful to the music and keep their chit-chat down to a minumum during songs which is nice when listening to audience recordings. After a five year time away from Japan, the fans were pumped for BA's return and were treated to one of the best set lists on the tour up to this point.

The Songs:
BA sticks with the added songs for a third night in a row, but mixes in new ones and changes placements. One Night Love Affair is the four song in the show which pushes There Will Never Be Another Tonight to the encores. It's a good move for both songs and adds value to the set list.

This Time and Somebody remain in the middle of the set and When You're Gone is moved back up the middle after being near the end of the main set the night before in Osaka.

I Was Only Dreamin' is performed for the third night in a row and sounds better each time.

After Japanese fan Atsushi mentions to BA that he has never played On A Day Like Today in Japan, BA adds it into the acoustic set to close the show. As a result, Flying is cut for a second night in a row in Japan.

So far on the Room Service tour, this one might go down as the best one yet.

The Artwork:
Thanks to BA fan Wouter Nuijten of The Netherlands for creating this
artwork.

The Recording:
Thanks to our friends at Rozy Project the Tokyo shows are recorded once again as they have been on all previous tours to Japan. With the advancement of technology, the recordings get better and better. This one is no exception. It's filmed on the opposite side of the stage and holds a steady shot on BA with Mickey in the background. The only flaw on the recording is the filmer cuts away from the stage at the end/start of each song. As a result, you miss the first few seconds of most tracks. .
