The Show: With a tour that started in Ireland and with stops in Scotland and England, this is the first tour stop on the mainland of Europe. This is only the 13th show on the lengthy Waking Up the World tour and this is the only stop in Belgium at the Flanders Expo venue. This is also the first stop in Belgium since the famous Live Live Live gig in July of 1988. BA promotes his larger outdoor summer of 1992 stop in Belgium at the Werchter festival. 1991 was BA's year in music. Everything I Do... was #1 around the world and Waking Up the Neighbours was either at the top or near the top of the charts in most countries. Belgium was no exception as Neighbours went to #1. The audience is pumped for the show and you can see the standing room only floor section singing and dancing for the whole show. Watching this recording reminds me of why I was and am still am a huge BA fan. He still has the youthful energy from the 80's but with a solid set and band that is better than is was in the 80's. He pumped his leg harder, worked the crowd and had an energy that made him so likeable and so good. It was as if he still had something to prove. The Songs: Hey Honey...does not feature the call-and-response part in the middle of the song that became a standard highlight of the first 30 minutes of his shows from '91-'94. All in all, five songs from the "new" Waking up the Neighbours album make their appearance in Ghent this night which is pretty much the usual for the fall of '91 tour. Once the summer '92 dates rolled around, that count was up to as high as nine with House Arrest, All I Want is You, Touch the Hand and Do I Have to Say the Words becoming regular staples in the show. Is Your Mama Gonna Miss Ya was also performed a handful of times in 1992. The Recording: Tracking is set for every about every five minutes so you will find yourself landing in the middle of a song for when using the tracking button on your DVD player.
