My love of Bryan Adams began back in the 80′s. I loved how he had a signature guitar sound and rocked along with Tina Turner on “It’s Only Love”. Later I delved more deeply into Bryan Adams music playing his first three albums over and over sure I would soon wear them out. Musically and lyrically, Bryan Adams music was full of meaning and it resonated with me. Lyrics such as these from “Cuts Like a Knife” when he says “Who is he baby? Who is he and tell me what he means to you?” felt like words I could have written myself.
In the 90′s, Adams remained contemporary and relevant with his hits “Everything I Do (I do it for you)” and I was thrilled to finally see him live in a huge arena. He seemed at the top of his career. The Nineties drew to a close but Adams has continued to stay current and relevant. His old songs still stand the test of time. His new songs still have that rock edge that first caught my ear. His lyrics have new meaning to me and I’m delighted to see how he appeals to my children as well.
